Supervision & Mentoring

Kate offers both individual Supervision and Group Supervision to acupuncturists and therapeutic workers following a training in Supervision herself in 2012. Generally group supervision allows for wider sharing and richness of experience as we all learn from others. Individual supervision allows for more one to one time and may feel easier to open to deeper issues.

Kate aims to work with you to support you in your career, providing a non-judgemental and safe environment for you to explore any professional or work related issues that come up. Supervision is essential for maintaining your well-being, improving your confidence, widening your experience and versatility as a practitioner, and preventing burn out.

Please feel free to contact Kate to chat about your own requirements.

benefits of supervision

common issues that arise in Supervision may be:

isolation in practice

Many practitioners work in complete isolation from other professionals, making it difficult to seek advice and ideas from others.

managing multiple roles

Every business has multiple roles that require attention, some practitioners can neglect the areas of their business that they find challenging.

maintaining boundaries

Boundaries are essential to preventing burnout - maintaining working hours, professional relationships and recognising your own emotions.

contracting

Some professionals struggle with maintaining regular appointments with their patients and explaining what the patient should expect.

confidentiality and ethics

It is important to protect your patients’ confidentiality, and some ethical scenarios can be difficult to navigate without assistance.

Complex cases

Some patients can have extremely complex backgrounds which may feel overwhelming. This can cause confusion and lack of confidence.
